Good Morning creative people! You know, I love me some pancakes! Oh, especially really dainty ones that’s adorned with colorful sprinkles, decorative candles, pats of butter, and drizzles of flavored syrup to tickle your taste buds. Remember on Friday when I said I had some wonderful party pics to share. Well, here they are. The first set is from Ashley Meaders. She creates pretty nifty things for weddings and parties and such and here she styled some great things to make for a great spread! I think what makes these pancakes so special and worth posting are all of the wonderful accessories around them: gorgeous flowers, pretty china, handmade name tags, vintage dishes, iced beverages in pretty jars! All intricately placed to be celebrated! Be sure to check out Ashleys website. She creates so many great items to make a party feel extra special!

Ok, now, I totally fell in love with not only the photos from creative mom extraordinaire Rubyellen Bratchers blog called “Cakies” but I just adore the fact that she takes so much pride and puts in so much creativity with her 3 daughters! I am always inspired by creative people but creative mothers..oh they make me so happy. Imagine if most moms were willing to tap into their creative energy to fill their children’s lives with handmade joy! How awesome would the world be? Pretty awesome in my opinion. I tell everyone: “Creativity can embellish the world, and a creative mom can save it”. LOL. Anyhow, back to the photos shall we.
Ruby celebrated her daughters first (she has 3 daughters named Brave, True, and Soul…how insanely sweet is that!) birthday by throwing one lavish breakfast party for her. I love the vintage feel and simplicity of this. My favorites are the vintage syrup containers, the yellow balloons, and the pretty pancake batter. This totally makes me want to make a ton of pancakes and invite people over to eat them ,yet I fear my accessories would not be as grand and vintage as Rubys…lol. Anyhow, even if you have no party to celebrate, you can still celebrate the mornings (especially the weekend mornings) by taking a little extra time to make your breakfast something special with color, thrifted dishes/fabric, and lots of creative love!

Oh, and for a triple bonus, enjoy this video Rubyellen made with her daughters…it’s so cute! Ok, hope you all are having a great Monday morning!

Never can a girl grow tired of looking at engagement and wedding photos. They are always so enchanting and when you have the help of wedding Stylists such as Grey Likes Weddings, you are bound to be in for some magical and creative eye candy. I love the details in these photos from various weddings from their blog. I especially love the little vintage buttons on the wedding cake. So simple, but clever! I also like the charm of re-purposing vegetable and fruit cans as flower vases! I will be posting more fantastic celebration photos to share next week as well…so be on the lookout for those!

I simply fell in love with designer and stylist Rie Elise Larsen’s pieces. Her collection of home decor and accessories are filled with a fantastic palette of colors and I think the hand stitched quilts of color are just magnificent. They really give me a lot of inspiration for my own work. You can also get a glimpse of Rie’s style within her home by viewing this article by Bo Bedre(danish).
Ok, back to her quilts! It got me thinking that I would love to incorporate some hand stitching in my own textile pieces. I find charm in handmade pieces in which you can see minor imperfections and in my opinion it gives each piece their own character and truly makes each one…one-of-a-kind! Plus I am sure that it would be quite relaxing to sit on your comfy couch or favorite chair and embellish/stitch your creations than sitting and leaning over a a loud sewing machine!

UK Photographer James Merrells portfolio is absolutely delightful! The image above is so simple, colorful, and composed just perfectly. It really makes you stop and observe each individual element in the photo don’t you think? And I love the light roses and pinks paired along with the yellow/mustards!
The shades of blues and olive greens in the rooms below are so soft and elegant. and I love that sofa with the baby blue, teal, and olive pillows and eggplant. The chair works quite well with such a formal design, and the same goes with the hint of eggplant in the bedroom in the top right hand corner.

While the first composition below is not quite my style, I think that pop of red of the milk carton up against the grey/blues, browns & tans, and black is perfect!

Simply perfect! The bedroom & parlor/living room below gives the essence of Marie Antoinette don’t you think? I love the way the lighting just softens and brightens the rooms…it really is eye candy! And once again the compositions in the rest of the photos are so sweet and simple…very much telling a story in many ways. Bravo to James for having such a stunning photography portfolio!

Interior Stylist Katrin Cargill is wonderful! Her rooms are so very pretty, charming, and sweet. She works as a creative stylist for many home magazines and she does such a great job at composing her rooms don’t you think? I also find it very inspiring that she has over 14 books all about design!

It is always inspirational to find rooms to be inspired by as we flip through our design magazines and scroll along blog rolls and devour in a healthy dose of design, but what inspires me the most, and what really brings the decorative elements alive is the photography. It is not such a simple task to capture the essence and personality of a room, while keeping in mind the lighting, shadows, mid tones, cropping, and such. So I always like to browse the portfolios of interior stylists and photographers to find inspiration in lighting and placement. This brings me to these images taken by PhotographerGemma Comas. I love the essence of these rooms, especially the bedroom with the high white tufted headboard! I think she did a great job at capturing the beauty as well as the elements that makes these rooms so lovely! Oh, and I love the second photo with the painted white floor boards! It’s such a great balance of classic..modern, and rustic style!

I love the enchantment and serenity that London Based Interior Stylist Lucyina Moodie brings to her photo shoots.
