Victoria Pearson

I can almost expect the home of a photographer to be immaculately composed. What better profession to have than to be that of a photographer with an attention to detail, light, color, shadow, and placement! I loved this video tour of photographers Victoria Pearsons home. You may recognize her name an/or photos from the pages of Martha Stewart. Her kitchen is sublime! The neutral kitchen s gorgeous and all of the dishes lined up in such an orderly but natural way is fantastic. I must admit that it would make me nervous, I would be sure that with one slam of the door my loving little dishes would come crashing down to the floor. Nevertheless I thought you guys would like this little video tour of of her home as well as a few shots of inspirational colors from her portfolio.

Tessa Frye Swarthout {captured love}

Not to long ago a high school classmate of mine had a lovely baby girl named Nora and I simply fell in love with the creative photography that the photographer used to capture their little bundle of joy (aren’t they fantastic?)! The talented woman behind the photo shoot is Tessa Frye Swarthout of Light, Love, Laughter Photography. I love her pieces within her portfolio that carry a more soft vintage feel and when it comes to photography, I adore the use of Black and White and sepia tone!

Here are a few of my favorite pics from Tessa’s wedding portfolio. You can view more of her work by visiting her website and Blog.

Tessa is based in Atlanta, but she travels all over the world to capture your special moments, so if you are in need of a fabulous baby, family, engagement, portrait, or wedding photographer, then be sure to head on over and let her know!

Hey Zee: Zee Longenecker

I love these prints taken by photographer Zee Longenecker. From past posts, I think that it would be safe to say that I seem to love any photo that’s chock full of cotton candy colors and carnival rides!

Simon Brown Photography {portfolio review}

After flipping through several House Beautiful mags, I noticed that many of times the work of Photographer Simon Brown caught my eye. While most of his photos are on the traditional side, I love these that he took which carries more of a shabby chic, beach-house, and gypsy feel to it!

I especially love the last photo with the baby blues, and all of the quilted and floral patterns. As much time as I spend in the kitchen, a cozy little nook such as this would be lovely to relax in along with a picturesque cookbook!

Frieda Maria {style pretty}

I love these whimsical photos of stylist duo Margo Maria Weijer and Frieda Mellema also known as Frieda Maria! I also love their list of things that they do and do not love:

Friedamaria loves: home-made, contraditions, dreams, granny stuff, eccentric, white – and powder tones with a spark of fluorine, sewing, painting, Dr. Marten shoes, steel wire, Alison Goldfrapp, wine, fairy tales, disorganised, nostalgia, Bjork, Sweden, dresses with short puffing sleeves, Lee Miller, melancholic, the forest, clients in the queue, bad bargains, sea air, comic heroes, minor flaws, fake fur,
Talking Heads, Rotterdam, fifties, e-mails…

Friedamaria does not love: perfection, fashionable, arrogance, beer, Bugatti EB 110, blah blah blah, dress codes, obvious prints like Jackson Pollock , George Bush, trendy, botox, the book was better
(than the film), rules, stiletto heals, fake, Lara Croft, overdose of whatever…” ~friedamaria.com

I love the spoons, I heart the photo transfers onto the delicate cloth(which is super easy to do by the way), and although I am not very fond of gelatin, I would love to prepare the colors below, just so I can admire their pretty colors!

Our Labor of Love

Do you ever come across a blog or website that is so full of beautiful imagery that you find yourself wanting to feature every image because you have a hard time picking just a handful out of so much eye candy? Well, that’s pretty much how I felt when I ran across the wedding photography site and blog of Our Labor of Love.

The nostalgic, magic, love, family, and romance that is captured by Whitney and Jesse, the creative duo behind Our Labor of Love is Beautiful! I love their artistic eye. Whether you are planning a wedding or planning a special event this blog will definitely inspire your creative entertainment and documenting ideas, and if you are in the Atlanta or California area, you should most definitely book them for your next event! My husband and I actually got hitched at the Savannah Georgia courthouse..which was quite fun and spontaneous(especially for me, I’m not so good at spontaneity, we will be celebrating our 10th year on the 23rd..yay!), but viewing these photos makes me want to throw a romantic shin dig JUST so I can have lovely photos to look at thereafter..lol. Anyhow, I am sure that you will enjoy these images as well as the colorful inspiration. I really love the wide range of ideas that are used within weddings, making them custom and unique…just like that of love!

James Merrell: Photography

UK Photographer James Merrells portfolio is absolutely delightful! The image above is so simple, colorful, and composed just perfectly. It really makes you stop and observe each individual element in the photo don’t you think? And I love the light roses and pinks paired along with the yellow/mustards!

The shades of blues and olive greens in the rooms below are so soft and elegant. and I love that sofa with the baby blue, teal, and olive pillows and eggplant. The chair works quite well with such a formal design, and the same goes with the hint of eggplant in the bedroom in the top right hand corner.

James Merrell: Photography

While the first composition below is not quite my style, I think that pop of red of the milk carton up against the grey/blues, browns & tans, and black is perfect!

James Merrell: Photography

Simply perfect! The bedroom & parlor/living room below gives the essence of Marie Antoinette don’t you think? I love the way the lighting just softens and brightens the rooms…it really is eye candy! And once again the compositions in the rest of the photos are so sweet and simple…very much telling a story in many ways. Bravo to James for having such a stunning photography portfolio!

I love these rooms taken by UK Photographer Carolyn Barber. They all look so colorful, fresh and inviting, & I would give anything to be lounging in such a magical and charming back yard like the one below as I sip on warm chamomile tea and spiced ginger bread!

Lisa Cohen

One day I imagine that I will have a bungalow style home with an open floor plan and a lovely mix of cool, rich, and earthy colors. My kitchen would be grand, not in size, but in personality and I would fill it with homemade goodness and decadent aromas, but until then all I can do is post pretty photos of the things that I love. The photographs of Photographer Lisa Cohen reminds me of my dream home and the food that would accompany it! As you all know I find great inspiration in those who photograph a home. Trying to capture the essence of your home in a photograph can be challenging at times. I feel that interior photographers especially make the rooms come alive.

Gemma Comas

It is always inspirational to find rooms to be inspired by as we flip through our design magazines and scroll along blog rolls and devour in a healthy dose of design, but what inspires me the most, and what really brings the decorative elements alive is the photography. It is not such a simple task to capture the essence and personality of a room, while keeping in mind the lighting, shadows, mid tones, cropping, and such. So I always like to browse the portfolios of interior stylists and photographers to find inspiration in lighting and placement. This brings me to these images taken by PhotographerGemma Comas. I love the essence of these rooms, especially the bedroom with the high white tufted headboard! I think she did a great job at capturing the beauty as well as the elements that makes these rooms so lovely! Oh, and I love the second photo with the painted white floor boards! It’s such a great balance of classic..modern, and rustic style!

Melanie Acevedo {portfolio review}

Brooklyn based Photographer Melanie Acevedo’s Interior & Lifestyle portfolio is quite lovely. I am sure many of you may recognize her work from editorials, including Elle Decor, Real Simple, and Domino spreads. That white canopy bed is so fantastic and the deep turquoise in that kitchen is divine…I heart turquoise of all shades!
