Lene Toni Kjeld {repeat, pattern}

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

I absolutely love these wallpaper designs from the Denmark line of Lene Toni Kjeld. The repeat process is fantastic. I really like the fusion of the different patterns that are used in each design. So often wallpaper is just one repeat pattern, but in this case it really does feel like you are looking at more of a piece of art than a simple roll of wallpaper.

Eva Lindh {interior styling}

Aaah! Stylist Eva Lindh’s work is fantastic! She manages to capture a feel of romanticism from any of the seasons that she is working with. What I love most about her Interior styling is her use simplicity, soft textures and serene colors with a pop of vibrancy in between.

Maxine Sutton {textile pretty}

Colorful, playful, and pretty, thats what the work of Maxine Sutton is made of! I love the abstract play of Textile Artists Maxine Sutton. She uses a combinations of screen printing, hand & machine embroidery, and needle-punch felting. Her pieces are artistic translations of anatomy, nature, organic shapes of spoons, eggs, and folklore.

Tracy Glover {objects & lighting}

Artisan Tracy Glover works in glass and based out of Cranston Rhode Island. Her hand-blown pieces are filled with so much light, color, and patterns that I am sure would bounce light off and around her pieces. My favorite would have to be the decorative knobs and I bet they would look superb if used on a light washed rustic style desk…a little modern…with a little bit of the new, you know? Anyhow, I am captivated by the color spectrums that she uses in her designs, aren’t you?

Cowtan & Tout

Monday, May 19th, 2008

I am usually not one for too many florals or polka dots, but every now an then I come across patterns and colors like these from Cowtan & Tout and I just drool over the floral lushness, especially the Jane Churchill Ellsworth Sofa! Their entire collection(which consist of Colefax & Fowler, Cowtan & Tout, Jane Churchill, Larsen, and Manuel Canovas) did not win me over, but these select few I thought were quite lovely. Usually florals are associated with a “country” feel, so I usually like when I see them used in a more contemporary/eclectic scene. What about you…are you a sucker for florals or do you leave them out in the garden?

I love this wallpaper from Flavor Paper. They specialize in vintage, contemporary designs that are all customized and hand-screened to fit your flavor. They even have a new line of scratch-n-sniff wall coverings that come in fun and juicy prints like “cherry forever”, “bananas”, and “tutti frutti”!
