Det Mondaene Skur

Oh just look at it! It’s a quaint little space flooded with sunlight, charm, and serenity. Just enough space to bake pretty pastries and heartwarming soups.

I LOVE this kitchen by Det Mondaene Skur, however, I would make one slight renovation…all it needs is a nice little chopping block island in the center and I would be in heaven. Oh I can just smell the blueberry pie and ginger tea cooling off now:)

Red, White, & Blue Rooms

So, I will be out of the blogoshpere tomorrow as I will be spending time with my family considering it’s a holiday here. We will enjoy a nice hot Georgia day of First Friday events downtown, picnics, and fireworks with the little one! Anyhow, I thought I would leave you all with some festive eye candy in the spirit of the 4th of July tomorrow here in the states. I have gathered up some of my favorite red, white, and blue rooms to offer up some color inspiration! I hope you all have a beautiful, relaxing, and creative weekend!

First off is Red: I use to not like decorating with the color red, because I thought it was a bit flashy and sometimes clashy and in irony of this post, I have to say that I just cannot bear a room that has the color combo of red, white, and blue in the same room. I don’t know why, it may be a bit too country for my taste. Ok, so back to red. I really love this color for the kitchen. I also think it is a fabulous backdrop color to accents such as pinks, lavenders, baby blues, yellows, and well, just about any color really.

White: Aaah…clean, crisp, classy! Obviously white lends itself to variety in decorating, as most light hues do. For all those with kids, I would say don’t be afraid to use white, as long as it is something that can be wiped down and/or taken off & bleached(slipcovers, pillow cases, etc.). We have a four year old rambunctious little boy and we keep a white comforter on our bed and it works out great, because when I wash it I can easily pour in a bit of bleach and it comes out bright and crisp as if it were new!

Blue: Blue is one of my favorite colors, because it seems as though no matter how saturated you get it, it still offers a quality of calmness. My walls are a deep Caribbean blue, very turquoise like and it is wonderful. Ble truly takes on the color of it’s surroundings and looks fabulous against a sunset!
