AphroChic is a daily design blog started by San Francisco resident Jeanine Hays. With a profound love of interior design from a very early age, it was a year ago that Jeanine decided to lend her own voice and personal philosophy to the world of interior design – “modern style with soul”. With a desire to bring soulful style to modern homes, AphroChic fills a unique gap blending modern and traditional style, and focuses on the integration of ethnic textiles and décor into the modern home. The blog is an attempt to push people beyond modern fads, and to show that the modern home can and should reflect one’s own personal style.

Bandelle Blog is largely my personal inspirational journal, where I document exceptional design and creativity shown in the most unique sources — from fashion, home decor, art, and the beauty of handmade forms. After launching Bandelle, an online custom jewelry design studio, I realized that many people enjoy a creative outlet just like me. The blog is a platform to share those big ideas and seek ways to explore and refine your style both for yourself and in your home.

Bloesem is very much about expressing my own ideas about design. I think of Bloesem as a personal on-line magazine that welcomes input from its readers, it is all about expressing and sharing thoughts on creativity and of course day dreaming when looking at beautiful images of designs. Whether gazing out a window, leafing through a magazine, or staring into my computer screen, my daydreams come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Sometimes my daydreams become reality. Cicada Daydream began as a personal inspiration board and has grown to encompass all facets of my creative process as well as a glimpse into my life as artist, mother, wife, friend- and busy lady. The vision for my company, Cicada Studio, grows and refines daily, as does my world through the invaluable community with which I have had the fortune to connect.

Strangely as it seems, Tartelette is my baking outlet for after my day job of…baking. I can let loose with creating what I want, complicated or not and take the time to plate it and style the desserts the way I really want. It is also a way to stay close to my mother’s and grandmother’s love of pretty table settings, colors and fun dining pieces. Dinning start with the eyes!
